NUMERALS CLOSE AT TOP

Soon, on the heels of the "close/bottom", the GPO began producing the stamps with the district number and date imprinted toward the top of the stamps. In this configuration the district number and date are run together without any spacing between, the first one ot two numbers the district number and the right-most two numbers the date. This is the last issue of mexican stamps that received a district number, date and district name overprint.
